Persian Army Lists

'Big Martin' at our local club turned up on Wednesday and kindly donated a large bag of Italeri figures to Steve and I,and would only accept a large coke in return. If you happen to be reading this Martin - Cheers your a gent!

This has given a filip to my attempts to collect a standalone Marian/Caesarian army but this propels Steve 'the Hat''s collection into new ground., at a stroke filling outmost of a Persian army. At his request I'm adding the DBA 2.2 army List for the earlier Persian period.

I/60 Early Achaemenid Persian 550BC-420BC

There are three sub-period variants

(a) 550-466BC 1 x Light Chariot or 3 Cav (General), 1 x 3 Cavalry, 1 x 2 Light Horse, 4 x 8 Bow, 1 x 3 Bow, 1 x 3 Auxiliaries, 1 x 2 Psiloi or 4 Spear, 1 x 2 Psiloi, 1 x 7 Horde

(b) 546 BC 1 x 3 Cavalry (General), 1 x 3 Cavalry, 1 x Scythed Chariot, 1 x WWg (Towers), 1 x 3 Camels, 5 x 8 Bows, 1 x 3 Auxiliaries, 1 x 2 Psiloi

(c) 465-420 BC 1 x Light Chariot or 3 Cav (General), 1 x 3 Cavalry, 1 x 2 Light Horse, 2 x 8 Bow, 2x 4 Bow or 3/4 Auxiliaries, 1 x 3 Bow, 1 x 3 Auxiliaries, 2 x 2 Psiloi, 1 x 7 Horde
